Summer Travels...

Hello! Miss Sporadic Writer is back again!! :) I'll have to write some randomness since it's been a few weeks - here ya go! 

The Hubs and I took a quick trip to NYC/Connecticut to visit family about 2 weeks ago - it was wonderful! I absolutely love NYC in the summer! and we got to spend the weekend in Connecticut at my wonderful in-laws house. I love, love, love their house! It looks like it's straight from a magazine:

 The inside of the house is very cool with an open floor plan and exposed beams. 

They even have a barn!! Love it! The landscape there is just so different than NOLA it's such a nice change. Summers are cool, there are rolling hills, deer in the yard - even the grass is better!

The lake near the house. The area reminds me of a Normal Rockwell painting - 4th of July here is straight up Norman Rockwell! 

Oh yeah, I even found my future summer house:

Someday.... ha!

The antique stores are great in the area too - my absolute favorite is this awesome shop in Millerton called Hunter Bee. They have a great eye and have some really amazing and fun pieces. A lot of personality in their things!! Below is a HUGE bust I was obsessed with (are you surprised?!) and they wrapped a massive yellow tassel rope around him - trust me - it looked AMAZING in person! This bust was at least 3' tall. It had already sold :( 

Oh and if you're able to get to NYC for the Punk show at the MET go see it!! It was SO fun and cool! I got some great Mardi Gras costume inspiration!! :) 

OK, now we're off to Florida for a fun weekend to celebrate my cousins birthday!! So excited!!

We will be enjoying cocktails by the pool at Caliza in Alys Beach tonight! Yippeeeee!
