Cool Wall Treatment...

This past weekend I saw an awesome wall treatment done at the New Orleans Museum of Art:

Here's my momma strolling my niece... the wall looks cool right?!

Sorry, they're fuzzy... you're supposed to be looking at the walls anyway!

This look would be so fun in a lobby...or a doctors office!? Offices are so BORING! If I had a big foyer I'd be tempted to do this wild guy there even!

What do ya think? It's CRAZAY!

Busty Bust Bust Bust... Yep... BUST POST!

If you've at all been following my blog, you're well aware of my love for busts!! We just got 2 lovely boys in at the shop this week and I'm in love!!

I mean, look at this!! I want everything in this picture!! It's such a curse sometimes to work in a design store... My true love here is that AMAZING stool!! It's covered in alpaca - yes please!! It's already been sold and who am I kidding - not in my budget!!

BUT also notice Mr. Handsome up on the table....

Why.... hellooooo!

He's super fragile and when picking him up, a hole was punctured in his upper chest - SO my clever boss, Mr. Smith (no I don't really call him that but it sounds fun, like he's a secret agent or something) placed roses in his upper chest. Doesn't it look fun!? Almost like a corsage on a lapel.

Here's the other bust - but he is now chillin' at the New Orleans Museum of Art for Art in Bloom for the remainder of the week....

Isn't our table just lovely!! I'll do a more detailed post on this fun project later. I just got distracted looking at these busts all week... ;)

What do y'all think?? Too obnoxious or you likey??

What I've Been Up To...

I've been a busy girl this past week! The rental is finally ready and our first guests arrive tomorrow!! Aaahhhh!!! BUT I've also been busy helping my boss with a table scape for Art In Bloom at the New Orleans Museum of Art.

It was SO much fun and our table looks gorgeous!! I can't wait to share more pictures but here's a teaser of my boss arranging the flowers....

Ummmm do you see the beautiful paintings behind him!?

The gala is tonight with the top restaurants and bars of New Orleans providing delicious food & cocktails - let's just say, I'm ready to PARTY!! :)

I can't wait to share the finished table!

A Nice Little Before and New Color Scheme!....

I am in full on fixin' up furnished apartment mode! I'm almost done. Just some paint touch ups, ceiling fan improvements and getting the bed delivered Saturday...

BUT I must say, I am LOVING AirBnB!! I put the apartment up so I could rent it for the busy Jazz Fest/French Quarter fest and it's almost booked straight through Jazz Fest!! I can't believe it :)

I wanted to share a "before" peak at the lovely architectural details between the living room and bedroom with y'all though:

Notice the hideous fans?! bleghhhh They have little crystal bears dangling from the pull chain!!

Also, since I've decided to go black/grey I've got my new color scheme:

I have some great chartreuse silk curtains that will go up in the bedroom. But it will mostly be white, grey with some touches of black. I can't wait for this to be done!

In The Kitchen... Grapefruit with Honey & Mint

This "In The Kitchen" is super easy to make and super tasty!

Grapefruit with honey & mint.

Grapefruits are abundant at our farmer's market so it's a great time to make this.

Ingredients:

- Grapefruit
- Honey
- Mint

Told ya it's EASY!

You just cut up the grapefruit - remove all the yucky white pulp stuff, squeeze any extra juice from the rind - and put in bowl.

Then thinly slice up the mint and sprinkle on top.

Then you drizzle some honey to taste on top of all that!

Voila! DONE!

It's a great side if your hosting a brunch. It looks fancy yet it's super simple to make!

And it's YUM YUM in my TUM TUM!

Another One Got Away.... But Fancy Clothes Take The Pain Away...

Stopped by an Estate Sale this AM and was planning on scooping up these awesome guys:

And of course someone swoops in before my eyes and grabs them!!! UGH!!!

They were $20 for the pair! Whaaaaaaa! Wouldn't they look awesome cleaned up with a modern black shade!? I'd plan on only keeping one, I feel like it would be too much to have two....

BUT I did scoop up some AMAZING vintage clothes! I luvs fashion and this woman had the most amazing vintage clothes. I love to study how the pieces were made - it's said all the time but clothes are in no way made the way they used to be!

Here's what I got!

Adorable baby doll orange sherbet dress - it's SO cute!! It has little rhinestones at the tops of the bow too! I picture wearing this with a neutral motorcycle jacket and flats.... just to counter the froo froo - ness of it. The colors are gorgeous in person.

Simple black dress.

Slip. I love the detail at the bottom.

Totally 60's brocade with crystal detail cocktail dress! I have a black tie event coming up and this will be perfect!

Timeless, great fashion will stand the test of time much like a timeless great interior!

DO any of you hunt for awesome vintage finds?! I browse thrift stores but they never have anything great like this sale I went to. I wish I was a 0 and I could've gotten a whole new wardrobe! ;)
