People in New Orleans decorate their homes for any and all holidays, Mardi Gras being no exception.
People will usually just switch their Christmas decor for Mardi Gras decor!

In our neighborhood people seem to take advantage of all the iron gates and drape them with beads... it's such a festive look!
Some will actually recycle their Christmas tree to become a Mardi Gras tree!
Below is my neighbors house. I love his simple, elegant take on decorating what can get to be really tacky and over the top!
And below is our home - we recycled our Christmas wreaths and just wrapped them in Mardi Gras ribbons and bought 3 yards of fabric in traditional Mardi Gras colors - purple, green and gold. It was a great inexpensive way to get in the spirit!
Aaahhhh.... one of my favorites! LOVE this house!
How cute?!
I hope you enjoyed!
( I am working on the big Mardi Gras recap post and it's taking longer than expected! Then back to regular posts!)
